This wooden heart-shaped spoon is called a mwiko in Kenya. It is lightweight and long lastiing. Most mwikos last roughly ten years. It was hand-carved by one of our suppliers in the Jumuiya (within the Kenyan) region of Africa. This mwiko is 100% biodegradable. It will easily be part of your kitchen for a decade and will help you create treasured memories. You can use this particular design for cooking and serving food, all year round. Some basic care instructions: Handwash and coat it in cooking oil twice a year. If it begins to fall apart, sand it down, then wash and oil again. It should turn into a stick of wood that you can throw into a fire ten years or more later. Make it yours today or gift it to a loved one. Measurements: 13" long and 3 1/4" at the widest point (the scooping area). The scoop is 1 1/4" deep. The widest portion of the handle is 1" wide while the handle itself has a circumference of 2 3/4". The mwikos are a mix of brown and darker-toned wood. None of these cooking utensils have been dyed or glazed.
