Holiday Krumpus Ornament

The Holiday Krumpus Ornament dates way back before Christian times.. The Krumpus is a horned, anthropomorphic devil like figure in Central and Eastern Alpine mountain forklore  who, during the Christmas season on the evening of December 5th, scares children who have misbehaved. Assisting Saint Nicholas, the pair visit children with Saint Nicholas rewarding the well-behaved children with modest gifts such as oranges, dried fruit, walnuts and chocolate, while the badly behaved ones only receive punishment from Krampus with birch rods!! So I guess he knows if you've been bad or good.. so be good for goodness sake! This devil like figure is jointed at the arms and legs, has horns and a long.. long tongue that rolls out his mouth.. He holds birch rods in one hand and a pitch fork in the other. He is carrying a woven basket and has bells attached to his ankles. Lots of fun hand painted details. Measurements: 7 inches tall x 3 inches wide x 3 inches deep
